These multigen Goldendoodles, carefully bred over multiple generations, inherit a beautifully refined blend of traits from their Golden Retriever and Poodle lineage. The result? A luxuriously soft coat—curly, wavy, or straight—that sheds minimally or not at all. While multigen Goldendoodles are our focus, we occasionally breed lower-generation Goldendoodles when introducing a new bloodline. Here’s a quick guide to the different generations:

• F1 Goldendoodles: 50% Golden Retriever, 50% Poodle

  • A direct cross between a purebred Golden Retriever and a purebred Poodle.

• F1b Goldendoodles: 75% Poodle, 25% Golden Retriever

  • A mix between an F1 Goldendoodle and a purebred Poodle. About 50% of puppies will have stronger hypoallergenic, non-shedding traits, while others may inherit a single furnishing gene.

• F2 Goldendoodles: 50% Golden Retriever, 50% Poodle

  • A cross between two F1 Goldendoodles. Coat traits can be unpredictable, with some puppies inheriting a higher-shedding coat like a Golden Retriever.

• F2b Goldendoodles: Generally 62.5% Poodle, 37.5% Golden Retriever

  • A mix between an F1 Goldendoodle and an F1b Goldendoodle. Around 50% of puppies may inherit only one furnishing gene, meaning they may not be fully non-shedding.

• F3 / Multigenerational Goldendoodles: Carefully balanced mix of Poodle and Golden Retriever genes

  • Produced by breeding two Goldendoodle parents, with at least one being an F1b or multigen. A Poodle or Golden Retriever crossed with a multigen Goldendoodle also qualifies. These pups are known for their consistency in coat quality and temperament when DNA technology is used to selectively breed for non-shedding coats.
