Service Dogs are those dogs trained to do specific tasks to allow their human with physical disabilities to live a more normal and independent life. Therapy Dogs are dogs that provide emotional support to their human. Goldendoodles are well suited for these rolls due to their desire to please and their high intelligence. Due to their reduced or lack of shedding, they have become a popular breed for those in need of assistance whom also suffer from allergies to dogs.
When we have a litter of Goldendoodle puppies for sale, we accommodate those seeking a Service Dog first. From the available Goldendoodle puppies, we allow certified trainers to utilize testing protocols to determine which puppies have the best aptitude for Service Dog training.
Both mini Goldendoodles and standard Goldendoodles have excelled as working dogs, but our mini Goldendoodle puppies have shown they are superior as hearing assistance dogs. It is the standard Goldendoodle that tends to be most successful with tasks that involve helping a disabled person with mobility issues simply due to their size and durability. We also have Goldendoodles that have been trained as diabetic alert dogs, seizure alert dogs, allergy alert dogs, and Autism support dogs.
Below you will find many Goldendoodles produced by Fox Creek Farm that have earned different titles in the Service and Therapy Dog fields as well as the testing requirements for a dog to earn its Canine Good Citizen certification.
